Your car's electrical system powers everything from the ignition and fuel systems to accessories such as your radio, headlights and wipers. The electrical system is, in turn, powered by the engine. Here are the three key components of the electrical system:
Yes we have new batteries and can diagnose a problem. It’s always concerning when a battery goes dead or gets weak, could be a sign of Alternator/Regulator malfunction. An alternator is supposed to keep it charged, a regulator adjusts the amperage that does the work. There was a time when these components where separate, but today’s regulators are built into the Alternator and when replacement is needed, in most cases the entire Alternator must be replaced. Stop by the shop, we will diagnose the problem.
Note: Slow starts (slower than it used to be) can be an early warning, best to bring it in before it leaves you stranded.
Replacement batteries for cars, suv’s and light trucks. Import and domestic all makes and models.
Test you charging system today, it may not be an alternator, it may be a battery.
Quick DIY Tip: After using safety precautions, start the car, loosen the battery cable, then remove while the car is running, if the engine shuts off or bogs down slowly then shuts off, its the alternator. Alternators are suppose to power the car when running, the battery is only used to start the engine. Alternator handles the amp load while running and the balance charges the battery, if the car shuts off, it’s because the alternator is not performing as designs and will need to be replace.
